This anime is very well done. Our protagonist is a normal boy, who has focused on his studies all his life, and who is going to have a logical sporting evolution. The practice of tennis is not redundant, each match is different and maintains a suspense. It's an anime that mixes romance with the committed sporting side of training, competition, victory and defeat.

If you are wondering why I included this anime in this list, it is because Karuta is recognized as a kind of sport in Japan. This anime is mature and combines what we already know from school romance anime with the practice of Karuta, unknown to most people.

Aoyama is a soccer genius. He stands out thanks to his talent but also to his obsession with cleanliness, also present when he is on the field, which leads him to have a particular style of play.

This anime doesn't have a lot of romance but it's still suggested. It's mostly comedy and I think it's well written. The character is very atypical and at the same time, makes us think of these hard times that we went through following the pandemic. It's a light anime when you don't really want to focus on something serious.
