In this list, I will share anime that mixes romance and action. Some are more action-focused and some are more romance-focused.

The story takes place mainly in Paris in the 19th century. Noe will have a mysterious encounter during his journey, a person in search of a mysterious book, which will prevail in a world of secrets, mysteries, betrayal and more.
By the same creator as Pandora hearts who has an overflowing imagination and who always uses very interesting references. This anime is super funny and amazing graphic quality. The manga isn't finished yet, so I hope a season 3 is possible.

The Republic of San Magnolia is a territory made up of 85 districts. To protect themselves, they have developed mysterious weapons. What the public does not know is that one more district exists: 86. Yet it is thanks to them that the territory is safe. The 86 squad is in contact with the main land through officers. This will be the case of Lena, who will be collaborating with the 86 team.

This anime is one of the most amazing in terms of writing quality. It keeps us in suspense until the end and makes us go through all the emotions. And while the romance isn't tagged or advertised, it's important to me to point out that it's well presented.

One day, a black meteorite crashed into the Earth, which completely changed the world. Indeed, the meteorite gave birth to monsters named D2 which have a sensitivity to music. This anime is a complete original work. The music is amazing and we literally travel with the characters. I think it's an amazing anime, which I hadn't heard too much about at the time and which I enjoyed.

This world is sometimes bewildered by evil creatures who cross the boundary between their world, Magano and the human world. At that moment, the exorcists, called Onmyôji, intervene. Rokuro Enmadō, a middle schooler who once aspired to become one of the best Onmyōji, now lives a normal life due to traumas from the past. He wants nothing more to do with this situation. But it seems his fate has decided otherwise.

The characters have unique personalities and deep life stories. I remember watching the episodes without stopping and being touched deeply.

• Darling in the franxx

The FRANXX, mobile units controlled by two pilots, are the only effective weapons against certain monsters. Unfortunately, it's not accessible to everyone since collaboration between a woman and a man is necessary and the two must be perfectly synchronized. Hiro has been trained to become a pilot within Plantation 13. Events will lead him to collaborate with Zero Two. The problem? it seems that all her past partners died quickly.
It's an anime showcasing a dystopian future. What bothers me is the somewhat exaggerated ecchi side that could have been avoided. But it is an anime that is touching, very beautiful to watch, with particular personalities.

• Kenja no mago

Shin was once a normal human who reincarnated in a magical world. In this world, he is the most powerful magician, raised by the best and respected characters of this world. He learned everything from them except socialization. He will therefore be sent to a school of magic, to be able to make friends of his age. But that seems to displease some, and will provide dangerous opportunities for others.
Although the storyline is nothing new and it may seem like any isekai, I still enjoyed both main and supporting characters. The romance is present and cute. The villains are also very charismatic.

• Chivalry of failed knight

In this magic academy, students are graded by their magical and physical abilities. Kurogane Ikki doesn't seem to have any special talents at first glance, unlike Stella Vermilion, a fire-controlling princess. After many misadventures and misunderstandings, they will join forces to win an important tournament which will allow them to achieve their respective objectives.
It's a simple anime that balances the fights, the more academic side, the dramas between the characters and the romance. It's a context and a genre that we are used to seeing but I think this anime has mastered it best.

• Btooom

Ryouta Sakamoto, 22 years old and unemployed, spends his time playing a violent game, where you have to attack opponents with bombs. It is his favorite game and he is even one of the best players. Until the day he wakes up in the middle of a desert island, as a real player of his favorite game with very real weapons and very real deaths.
The story tackles a more psychological and darker side of this rather common context in anime. In this atmosphere of kill or be killed, the characters must survive on this island, face their demons and traumas, while facing the other players. Even after so many years, I still remember the music from this anime, it's just amazing.

• Full metal panic

Sousuke Sagara, a 17-year-old elite soldier working for the secret organization "Mithril" has been assigned the protection of Kaname Chidori, a young Japanese student. To do this, he will pretend to be a normal student and join Chidori's class. All this without really knowing who this girl is and why she needs to be protected.
The quality of humor in this anime is incredible and the dynamic between the characters is very funny to see. It's a long anime that brings together everything you would expect from an anime: the slice of life side at school, the action, the humor, the romance. It's an anime that manages to be light at times and intense at others.
