Top Music Romance Anime

romance anime with good music
Today, I am going to quote anime romances revolving around the practice of music whether through instruments or singing.

Blonde guy and brunette playing music at school
  • Kono oto tomare
    • Release date: 2019

Themes: Romance, comedy, school life, music

      Episodes: 26 (2 seasons)

Takezô Kurata is the last member of the Koto club, a club dedicated to the traditional Japanese string instrument. If he does not find new members, the club will be closed.
He will have to find new members. Thus, among the new members, there is Chika Kudô, who has a reputation of being a delinquent and Satowa Hôzuki, a cold prodigy of Koto.

This anime may seem light and look like a basic school anime, but it is much deeper. The main characters are not a duo that we are used to see. Two introverts with hearts bruised by the past. The music was magnificent and will be appreciated by lovers of traditional music. This anime really reminded me of Kaishou wa maid sama, which is one of my favorite anime.

Nino was a little girl who loved to sing from an early age. Indeed, she has an incredibly touching voice that makes you feel chills and manages to convey a lot of emotions. She used to sing with two childhood friends, who are going to move out and leave her alone. But they both promise to find her. Now in high school, she falls back on familiar faces, but completely different personalities.

This anime is really full of drama and feelings. Nino's raw voice shares so many emotions and distress.

Yû Haruna has just moved to Tokyo and one day meets by chance Fûka Akitsuki, a great music lover. After getting along well, they decide to form a music group.

The story begins to gain momentum little by little, when we really get into the theme of the music. The romance begins slowly, simply but surely.

    girl and bishounens playing music

  • La corda d'oro
    • Release date: 2006

      Themes: romance, music, drama

Episodes: 28 ( + another season was made taking place 8 years after the events, with different characters)

Kahoko Hino, late, rushes to school. She will meet a funny character who will infuse her with an incredible musical talent which will confuse our protagonist since she has never had any particular talent. She then finds herself at the heart of musical competitions and surrounded by prodigies, who will not necessarily be very delighted with her presence. And even if it's not your style, this anime will make you discover the beauty of classical music.

It's a beautifully neat anime and if you like musical works you should enjoy it. The music is still etched in my memory.

He now lives without seeing a precise goal in his life, in sadness, until he meets Miyazono Kaori, an excellent young extroverted violinist, who will give meaning to his life.

Many people will tell you that they cried a lot while watching this anime. Whether you are a fan of classical music or not, this anime will touch you deep in your heart.

The story takes place in a world where all forms of art are appreciated and are a kind of magic. Kohana Aigasaki joins a prestigious school to improve her floral art. But in her journey she will have to face several difficulties, the weight of pressure, competition and rivalry.

This anime is really what you need if you are feeling sad and want to watch something colorful and cheerful although it has its share of deep subject matter. The fact that the MC faces a lot of challenges and questioning, without everything being easy for her or being privileged, makes her very relatable.

boy and girl playing piano in anime

  • Nodame cantabile
    • Release date: 2007

As he begins to tire of his art, he meets Megumi Noda, who is totally different from him in every way. She falls in love with him and his talent although this love is first, unrequited. But they will nevertheless get closer on a musical and intimate level, on their way to a beautiful romantic symphony.

This anime is complete, satisfying as we see their relationship evolve. The comedy is hilarious and the music very pleasant.

Nanami Haruka is a shy young girl who dreams of becoming a songwriter and therefore attends a renowned and specialized school. Very quickly a lot of questions arise when she finds herself having to team up with 6 talented young boys.

This anime rocked my youth like many people. It's a very funny, touching anime, with incredible music and a real diversity of characters. It's an anime that makes you smile but that can have more serious moments.

black hair guy and friends playing japanese instrument
    • Mashiro no oto

Setsu Sawamura grew up with his grandfather, a great figure of Shamisen. But when he dies, Setsu is just confused after losing his reasons for living. He no longer has any interest in anything, neither studies nor music until the day when he, who has lived recluse in the mountains, decides to go to Tokyo.

The first thing that struck me is the music of the anime. It's just incredible and put us directly in the mood and show us the beauty of a traditional Japanese instrument.

    nana and her band

    • Nana

They have a lot in common in addition to their first name and at the same time, are very opposed. Fate will bring them together again : they will become friends, while witnessing drama, disarray and respective traumas.

This anime sheds light on toxic relationships, friendships and love, past traumas, mental health and more. If you are looking for a more mature and realistic anime, give a chance to Nana.

Tsubasa has just been hired as a manager in a large company in the music industry. Very soon, her mission will be to manage B-PROJECT, which concerns several different groups of male idols.

This is a simple and enjoyable anime. It has no serious overtones or real intrigue. It's a good musical anime to watch to pass the time, but don't expect anything out of the ordinary either.
