Top Royalty Romance Anime

 

In this list, I will quote anime that somehow deals with royalty, with characters being princes or princesses.

• The Bibliophile Princess

Lady Elianna has been a lover of books since her earliest childhood. Introverted, she has more empathy and tenderness for books than for humans. However, her fate is linked to  Prince Christopher, with whom a marriage in the first place, of convenience, will take place. You will be able to follow the characters through royal life in their daily lives. 

I would like the MC to be a little more active and expressive, but that's part of his personality.

It's a very colorful anime, bright but it still has a good share of drama. It is sweet but also melancholic and nostalgic. If you are looking for a calm, cute and sweet romance anime with lovely and bubbly graphics, I recommend.

• Akagami no shirayukihime

Shirayuki is a mysterious young herbalist with red hair. Her hair often attracts the attention of innocent people but also of people with bad attentions. When she tries to escape from an unexpected situation, she meets a young boy, who carries much more on his back than you might expect.
This anime is one of my all time favorites. I never get tired of watching it and it always gives me strong sensations. It is, in my opinion, one of the most realistic in terms of romance. We really start with a beautiful and simple friendship which in the end reveals much deeper feelings. There is also a loooot of drama and action.

• Akuyaku Reijō Nanode Last Boss wo Katte Mimashita

A seriously ill young woman who spends her time playing Otome games, finds herself reincarnated in her favorite game, as Irene Loren, the villain of the game. But in the game's script, she is supposed to die because of the antagonist.

This anime is in my opinion one of the best recent romance anime. It is complete and satisfying. Anime with main characters with villain status, are very popular right now. The characters are iconic, the story well written with a hilarious comedy. The only thing that's unfortunate is that it's short and the whole story takes place in so few episodes, which can sometimes give the impression of a frantic pace.

•  Akatsuki No Yona

Yona was a princess who lived a perfect life without knowing the reality and harshness of life outside the castle. A tragedy will radically open her eyes and change her life forever. Once a naïve princess, she will be thrown into this world she knew nothing about. You will be surprised to see the evolution of the heroine in this anime. The music is incredible and the characters original. 

This anime is my all time favorite, I think it has everything : the building romance, hilarious comedy, unexpected drama and more. We feel carried away in this world full of suspense, secrets but also dangers.

• Soredemo Sekai wa Utsukushii

Nike Lemerchier, princess of the Duchy of Rain, is to marry Livius I, king of the Land of the Sun, who has the reputation of being an ugly and cruel old man. 

Nike is one of my favorite characters. She is strong, has an incredible talent and all this linked to the music of the anime gives unforgettable moments. She is independent and does not hesitate to speak, give her opinion and act when necessary. Livius is a curious cynical character to whom we become attached. Although the prince is young, this isn't an anime that portrays a sick thought or seems to indulge bizarre fantasies. Moreover, later in the manga, he appears older and is even more imposing than our protagonist. It's a pity that we didn't have a sequel.

• Why Raeliana Ended Up at the Duke's Mansion

The storyline is somewhat similar to 'Akuyaku Reijō' as it is a reincarnation in a world where the MC is destined to die. She will therefore do everything to survive and avoid her imminent death. This anime is adapted from a successful webtoon.
The character of the heroine is really interesting. She is intelligent, thoughtful and determined. The graphics are of high quality.
